Digital Consent Is Real Consent
The Wits University students conducted a TFGBV awareness campaign which they titled Digital Consent Is Real Consent.
The objectives of the campaign included:
- Educating and raising awareness: To educate young people about the forms and consequences of TFGBV, including cyberstalking, harassment, non-consensual image sharing, and online gendered abuse.
- Promoting digital consent: To promote the importance of digital consent and respectful online behaviour, highlighting the need for boundaries and mutual respect in digital interactions.
- Fostering a culture of empathy and respect: To foster a culture of empathy, respect, and inclusivity in digital spaces, encouraging young people to think critically about their online actions and their impact on others.
